Materials needed to make steel plates
1. Steel plates
• High-quality carbon steel plates: low carbon content, soft steel, easy to process later, such as etching, engraving, etc. This type of steel plate has good flatness and toughness, can withstand a certain amount of pressure, and is a common basic material for making pad printing steel plates.
• Stainless steel plates: For some pad printing steel plates that require high precision and high durability, stainless steel plates are a good choice. For example, 304 stainless steel plates have good corrosion resistance, can maintain good chemical stability during etching, and have a high surface finish, which is conducive to the adhesion and transfer of ink, and are suitable for making pad printing steel plates for long-term use or in harsh environments.
2. Plate making materials
• Etching solution:
Ferric chloride etching solution: It is a commonly used acidic etching solution. In the process of making pad printing steel plates, it is used to etch the unwanted parts of the steel plate to form a printed pattern. It can react chemically with the iron in the steel plate to dissolve the metal in the non-pattern area. The concentration of the etching solution and the etching time need to be adjusted according to factors such as the material, thickness and complexity of the pattern of the steel plate.
Ferric chloride etching solution has a slow etching speed and has certain temperature requirements.
Nitric acid etching solution: Nitric acid has strong oxidizing properties and can also be used for etching steel plates. Its etching speed is relatively fast, but the control requirements of the etching process are high, because nitric acid is highly corrosive, which can easily lead to excessive etching or damage to other parts of the steel plate. It is generally used in situations where etching accuracy is high, the pattern is complex and fast etching is required. In the process of steel plate making, nitric acid etching solution is more commonly used.
• Developer: If the photosensitive platemaking method is used to make a pad printing steel plate, a developer is required. The developer is used to dissolve the uncured part of the photosensitive coating after exposure, so that the printed pattern appears. Different photosensitive materials may require different formulations of developers. For example, the developer composition commonly used for diazo photosensitive materials is different from the developer composition required for photopolymerization photosensitive materials. The FUJI photosensitive glue commonly available on the market belongs to diazo photosensitive glue. It uses FUJI developer water, which is a mixed solution of acidic substances and hydroquinone.
• Anti-etching materials:
• Photoresist: In the photosensitive platemaking method, photoresist is the key anti-etching material. It is coated on the surface of the steel plate. After exposure and development, the unexposed part of the photoresist is dissolved, and the exposed part is solidified on the steel plate to form an anti-etching layer to protect the pattern part from being etched. Common photoresists include diazo photoresist and photopolymer photoresist. Diazo photoresist has a fast photosensitivity and high resolution, while photopolymer photoresist is relatively simple to operate and has good storage stability.
• Dry film resist: Dry film resist is a pre-made thin film resist material that is attached to the surface of the steel plate by film pasting. It has good resolution and anti-etching performance and is suitable for making high-precision pad printing steel plates. When in use, the dry film is pasted on the steel plate, and after exposure and development, etching operations can be performed.
3. Auxiliary materials
• Grinding materials: Before making pad printing steel plates, the steel plates need to be ground to obtain good surface flatness and finish. Grinding materials include sandpaper (such as 800 mesh, 1000 mesh and other sandpapers with different mesh sizes), grinding paste, etc. Through step-by-step grinding, the oxide layer, scratches and other impurities on the surface of the steel plate can be removed, providing a good foundation for the subsequent plate making process.
• Cleaning materials: Cleaning materials are needed to remove impurities such as oil, dust and other impurities on the surface of the steel plate during the production process. Commonly used cleaning materials include organic solvents such as alcohol and acetone. These solvents can effectively dissolve oil and are highly volatile, which facilitates the rapid drying of the steel plate after cleaning. At the same time, after etching and development, it is also necessary to rinse the steel plate with clean water or special cleaning fluid to remove residual etching solution, developer and other chemicals.
• Experience materials: Steel plate production is currently mainly manual operation, and different operators will have different experience and methods. For example, in the etching process, tape will be used to surround a container on the surface of the steel plate so that the developer can be poured in for uniform development. After development, the etching process will use a brush to supplement the details.

3) Some operators tend to develop water dumped on the plate surface imaging.

Colorless transparent acidic fluid, usually in full bloom in the PP PE plastic bottle, is widely used in the corrosion of metal plates. Because of the metal plates and acid by-product of the reaction has some damage to the environment, with plenty of water when used as dilution. Do not directly into the sewage.

Usage︰
